Automotive crashes can be life-threatening. This proved to be true on Saturday, when an out of control car crashed into a wooded area on Long Island leaving one person injured and two dead.

Accident Details:

This crash happened at about 10:30 p.m. on Saturday at Woodside Avenue in Holbrook. Jose Perez, 45, was driving his 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe at the time of the accident.

Two passengers, Luis Antonio Banegas, age 39, and Carlos Sarmiento, age 34, were also in the car at the time. Perez lost control of his car and it then crashed into the wooded area, say the police.

All three men were rushed to a nearby medical facility where Perez and Banegas were pronounced dead. The doctors are treating Carlos Sarmiento for non-life-threatening injuries. According to the police, Carlos was the front seat passenger in the car.

The police have impounded the SUV for a safety check. The police are investigating in the accident further.
