Motor vehicle accidents always affect the lives of victims. At times, they also affect the life of the perpetrators as well. An example of this has occurred in Medford, Long Island.

Everything in Detail:

The police have arrested a teenager involved in two separate motor vehicle accidents. One of these accidents resulted in injuries to a police officer. The teenager arrested for these two accidents has been identified as Jaheem Funderburke. He is only 17 years, according to Suffolk County Police.

The details of the first accident caused by Funderburke:

The first accident he caused, injured a Suffolk County Officer responding to a call on Preston Street. Funderburke immediately fled the scene after the accident. As for the Officer injured in this accident, he was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of non-life threatening injuries he suffered.

The details of the second accident caused by Funderburke:

Jaheem Funderburke caused another accident just a night later on Saturday night. His Mazda hit a Nissan being driven by a 42-year-old woman. Fortunately, the woman involved was lucky and did not suffer injury from the accident, said Suffolk County Police.

Jaheem and his two passengers tried to flee the scene on foot. However, all three of them were captured in a nearby wooded area, said the police. Jaheem was sent to Southside Hospital for treatment of minor injuries he suffered in the second motor vehicle accident.

The police arrested all three. The multiple charges filed against Jaheem Funderburke include:

  • Leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident.
  • Assault
  • Reckless endangerment
  • Criminal possession of a controlled substance

The two passengers with Funderburke in Saturday night’s accident have been identified as Kalithe Bell, 18, and Kenya Uceda, also 18. Both of them have been charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.
