Motor vehicle accident

A motor vehicle crash on Long Island proved to be fatal for a man and woman. Both died immediately. At least 5 people were injured in this accident; two of them were children. The kids suffered serious injuries, while the other three victims suffered non-serious injuries.

More Details of Accident:

This accident happened on Sunday at about 1:40 PM. Olvin Jimenez was driving his Toyota Corolla Southbound on Crooked Hill Road in Brentwood. He suddenly lost control of his car and entered the Northbound Lane, colliding with a Toyota RAV4, said the police.

Casualties:

According to the police, Olvin Jimenez and Erica Jimenez-Mejia, both 39, were declared dead at the scene. Erica was Olvin’s front seat passenger.

A two-year-old and ten-year-old were also sitting in the backseat of the Corolla at the time of the accident. Both suffered serious injuries and were rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center.

The 21 year old RAV4 driver, and his two passengers, also suffered non-serious injuries in the crash, said police. One of his passengers was 17 years old, while the other was 73 years old. All three of them were rushed to Southside Hospital for treatment.

The police closed the Crooked Hill Road in both directions till 6:00 PM, after the crash. The police also impounded both cars for a safety check.

The police are investigating the crash further.

Car Accident

Saturday morning didn’t begin on a good note for New York residents. This is because a Mount Vernon Pizzeria owner, Maria Piscopo, died in a terrible motor vehicle accident. Johnny’s Pizzeria is a popular destination for pizza lovers in New York.

Accident Details:

The accident happened at about 1 a.m. on Saturday morning on I-684 in North Castle. It was a three-vehicle crash that killed 69-year-old Maria Piscopo. Mr. Joseph Piscopo, 47, also suffered serious injuries in the crash.

Joseph was driving a GMC Denali northbound with Maria sitting in the passenger seat. Initial investigations revealed that Joseph rear-ended a Dodge Dakota 2001.

The situation worsened when a 2012 Isuzu box truck rear-ended Joseph’s GMC Denali during his attempt to move to the highway’s shoulder. The Isuzu box truck operator involved in the accident has been identified as Saed K. Alkasaji,43 years old, from Danbury. Saed also suffered injuries in the crash.

All three were rushed to Westchester Medical Center where Maria was declared dead.

The State police received assistance on the scene from the following departments:

  • Katonah Fire Department
  • Troop K Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit
  • Troop K Collision Reconstruction Unit
  • Westchester Medical Examiner’s Office

The police are still investigating the accident further.

Long Island Car Crash

A  fatal motor vehicle accident caused 3 deaths early morning this Sunday in suburban New York. Two victims hailed from Staten Island and they were father and son. Third victim was other car’s driver.

Accident’s Details:   

This car crash happened this Sunday at about 12:30 early morning. Alex Demetrius 27 from Nesconset was driving east in Amityville when his car went into the opposite lanes and crashed into a westbound car, said Suffolk County Police. Other victims are Joseph Cloonan 65 and his 34 years old son named John Coonan.

“I heard two loud bangs,” said neighbor Kirk Uson. “Once in a while both Cloonans fly up and down through the area real quick. It’s really upsetting, said Kirk.
