Suffolk County police responded to a crash that happened around 8:00 P.M. on Sunrise Highway eastbound, near Waverly Avenue.

The accident happened when a 2011 Chevy Tahoe, towing a car trailer, collided with a 2002 Honda Odyssey. The 39-year-old Odyssey driver has been identified as Michael Smartino. He suffered non-life threatening injuries in the crash and was immediately rushed to the Long Island Community Hospital located in East Patchogue.
