Deadly Crash on Long Island

Death is an inevitable, universal truth.  It comes at any time and in any way.  Sometimes, it comes much too soon. This holds true in the case of a 22-year-old man who lost his life in a motor vehicle accident in Long Island.

The details of this fatal car accident:

This accident was the result of a heated argument between three people. One of the parties involved in the accident was driving an Audi and the others were in a BMW.

According to police, this argument happened between three people. All three of them knew each other, said Nassau County Lieutenant Detective Stephen Fitzpatrick.

One BMW passenger was a 21-year-old female and the second person was a 22-year-old man. Both of them were in the BMW, being chased by the third person. The third party involved in the crash is a 23-year-old man who was driving the Audi.

The possible reason of this motor vehicle accident:

They were arguing with each other in Valley Stream before the accident. The argument escalated and the Audi driver started chasing the other two when they attempted to leave, according to Lieutenant Detective Fitzpatrick.

What about the vehicles?

Both vehicles involved traveled eastbound on the Southern State Parkway before they exited northbound on Baldwin Road. This is where the accident turned fatal around midnight. The Audi hit the BMW from behind in the area of Acacia Avenue.

The impact of this strike caused the BMW to lose control and hit a fire hydrant before hitting a tree as well. The Audi went on to collide with a taxi after striking the BMW.

Identity of the victims:

The 22-year-old BMW driver died at the scene immediately. The deceased has been identified as Jimmy Hayes of Hempstead, by a female claiming to be a close friend of the family; she preferred her identity not be revealed.

The female passenger in Jimmy’s BMW could not be identified at the time. She was rushed to a nearby local hospital for treatment. Her condition is reported as critical. As for the Audi driver, he was identified as Dana King Jr. of Valley Stream. The police immediately arrested and charged King with manslaughter.

The police have closed Baldwin road for further investigation.  Keep coming back to our website and we will keep you posted with updates related to this motor vehicle accident.
