Last week, Jun Cong Wu, a 33-year old Brooklyn-based construction worker met his death because of an accident at construction site at Gramercy Park, Manhattan. Now, another construction site accident has happened on January 24, 2018.

What Happened?

This accident took place at a construction site at 162nd Street and 46th Avenue in Flushing. According to sources, a large boom truck with a crane arm on its bed had been hired for lifting construction materials in Flushing.

But the truck tipped over in the construction zone at around 9:41 am in the morning. The accident resulted in damage to a nearby building as well as cars parked nearby. Fortunately, the incident neither injured nor killed anyone; but the authorities investigated the entire accident and had reason to believe that the general contractor was guilty of not safeguarding the construction site.

Furthermore, the Department of Buildings also levied five different types of fines on the general contractor. The boom truck involved in this construction site mishap was operating without a permit.
